We left Pamplona after a rough night of sleep in a tent surrounded by screaming drunk revelers and headed over to Bilbao, Spain. Exausted after a two hour drive and very little sleep, we parked in a zone that said "excepto policia municipal", and checked in to our hotel to take naps and recover. We are staying in a college dorm room that gets rented out over the summer and, after 4 straight nights of camping, this tiny room looks like a palace. We awake and decide to go move the car to a more sensible (less illegal) spot and the car is missing. After a few frantic moments and a conversation with a very helpful hotel receptionist we learned that: a. Ryan parked in a police only parking spot, b. our car had been towed and it would take 90€ to get it out of the "grua" c. spanish tow truck drivers like to spray their victims' cars with motor oil as punishment. After an unpleasant hour bartering with the "grua" attendant we managed to liberate the now greasy car and parked in our hotel's garage.
We spent the rest of the day exploring the Guggenhiem Museum of Modern Art and topped off the night with more pinxtos bars. We sit in a small internet room of our hotel, preparing for our 6 hour drive to Santiago de Compostela. More soon, Adios
