We woke up in Plus Roma Hostel camp and got ready for the day.

Packed up and locked our bags at the camp.

Took the camp shuttle to the Vatican Museum and paid 14 euros to go in (it would have been 8 if we had our student ID's...big mistake not to bring those, we could have saved a lot of money on the way).  Those Catholics sure like their money.  The museum was pretty cool though.  We got to see tons of old artifacts, including the Sistine Chapel with Michaelangelo's beautiful paintings.

After the museum we got some gelatto (Ryan had blueberry/chocolate/muffin flavor, and Amanda had strawberry).  SO GOOD!!!

We took the shuttle back to the camp to gather our bags.

Hoped on a bus to take us to the metro station, got on the underground into the central station, and hoped on the train to Salerno.

We decided not to pay the reservation fees again, so we had a lot of trouble finding seats on the train.  It was really packed, and evertime we would sit down, someone would come kick us out with there ticket.  We made it though...

We got to Salerno and found an internet cafe (still didn't know where we were going to stay tonight).  We found a hostel with space and figured we could just go there and book it.  This was a bad idea, because by the time we got there it was full!  There are only 2 hostels in Salerno, and both were at capacity.  Fortunately, they were nice and decided they would put together a spare bunk bed for us!

We went into town and got some pizza for dinner.  We walked around the shopping district and go some delicious gelatto (I know, twice in one day!).  We got Kinder and Chocolate Hazelnut...best ones yet.

We went back to the hostel to go to bed but it turned out to be pretty ghetto.  We shared this room with this old guy who went to bed at 9:30 and got all mad at us when we turned on the lights to get our stuff out for bed.  So, we went into the hallway and then got yelled at by this mom who had her whole damn family at the hostel, saying "have some respect, we have a flight at 6:00am".  Granted the doors did have glass windows so the hall light would have been a little bright, but it was only 11:00 in a youth hostel...who brings a family there anyway??

The showers turned out to be interesting too: No curtains, and no privacy.  We were showing off our parts to the world... :)

That was the end of that day.
