After staying the night in a park in the middle of Nebraska, we eagerly woke up early to make our way to Colorado. We finally made it to Boulder around 3 or so since we gained another hour when we entered mountain time. I was so excited to finally see some topography to the land scrape as the rockies literally start on the outskirts of campus. It was just as crazy as UT is since it was freshman move in day. (This will come back into play later in the story.) First thing we do after we park is we walk around campus to see what it's like. Daniel wants to see if he can get into the stadium and I just want to see the All American plaques of the runners. After failing to sneak into the stadium and seeing the plaques, we decide to go on the famous creek path and go to some red rocks close to campus. I thought the altitude would effect me more than it did, but I felt pretty good except for being really sore from my ten day break. After taking a short break to take in the breathtaking views, we decided to head back and grab some food. But right when we descended the mountain and crossed the street we go under a bridge and see a runner coming towards us with a dog on a leash. When we finally see  his face, it turns out to be Jorge Torres! Daniel and I were so awestruck that our pace picked up dramatically and couldn't wait to tell everyone about it. Once we finally made it back, we needed to take showers. So we had an idea to see if one of the dorms had community showers. To our luck, everyone was moving in so we just walked in the doors and it did have community showers. After being clean for the first time in a couple of days, we were going to try and find some food, but we had no idea where the good restaurants were so we thought we could just walk back into the middle of campus and ask someone where to go. Strangely enough, it seemed like everyone was walking in the same direction and they were in big groups. We were feeling pretty lucky from our encounter with Jorge and the free showers so we just decided to follow everyone for the hell of it. It turns out they were having a welcome bash for all of the new students with a party and free food. We couldn't believe how everything was falling into place for us. While we were eating our food, some people started to chat with us about the upcoming school year. We quickly told them that we were 19 year old freshman from Knoxville who were undeclared in our majors. I felt kind of creepy after the fact, but that quickly went away after realizing that Daniel is 6 years older than I am, but still looks younger. ha After walking around "the hill" for a wihle and seeing what nightlife they had, we decided to call it a night and try to sleep. We both just ended up falling asleep in our cars and woke up freezing! It went from 90 in the middle of the day to in the 50s at night. After waking up at the crack of dawn, we went to a little coffee place to charge our electronic crap and catch up on emails, facebook, etc. We looked at some cool trails close by and decided to try the flatiron trails just a few miles away. They turned out to be amazing! I wish the pictures did them more justice. They are so much bigger than they seem in the pictures, but oh well. Once finishing the hike, we grabbed some lunch on "the hill" at a pizza joint and started our drive to Denver...
