Friends today was almost a perfect day on the road.  The only reason I say almost is because there were periods of rain in Switzerland and I couldn't make more photos.
We left Como around 9am and Roxy planned the trip really well - she took us through the scenic route along the lake called Lago di Como.  The views were great (see photos) and the main road along the lake is one of those narrow streets where 2 cars can barely fit next to each other.  There are no markings in the middle of the road so everybody is for themselves. :-)  We passed a few trucks coming in the opposite direction and I just wonder how they went through!
We arrived in Lecco and we had breakfast there (we finally found a place where they made sandwiches!!!).  Lecco is a beautiful small town on the lake with mountains in the background.

Northern Italy

One thing I can say about Italy is that the far north parts of the country are very picturesque (way better than the landscape around Milano, Verona, Venice, etc.).  But then again I was not in southern parts of Italy.
From Lecco we headed toward the Swiss border.
Guys, Switzerland must be one of the most beautiful countries I ever saw (nature wise - I haven't seen a country yet that is better than Australia ;-) ).  The mountains are something that words cannot describe... The lakes are beautiful and rivers flow with water that almost looks white (we think it's from the rocks).  All I can say is look at the photos to get a glimpse of how Switzerland looks like...
Today we even passed through a small country called Lichtenstein.  I never thought I go through there.  Essentially it's Switzerland (by the looks) and it took us about half an hour to pass through the whole country (top to bottom - the long way :-)).
We entered in Austria then where we decided to stay the night as we didn't want to arrive in Frankfurt around midnight or a bit after.
Tomorrow we have the last stretch to Frankfurt from where we are leaving around midnight (which will be fun).
We are excited about going back home and can't wait to see you all (who are in Australia).
