Guys today we visited Verona and Milano.  It was another hot day - well you can just imagine that when we left Milano around 7pm the temperature was still 33 degrees celsius.
Where we stayed last night - we also had breakfast included in the price.  Well let's say it's not a breakfast Vlad eats every morning.  The "Italian" breakfast consisted of a croissant (one and only) of choice and a juice.  After having a bowl for breakfast at home Vlad left the place a little hungry. :-)
Anyway, after breakfast we drove to Verona which took us about 20 minutes.  The Verona city centre was very nice.  There were a lot of ancient monuments and buildings.  We saw where Juliette and Romeo lived, the balcony from which Juliette was listening to Romeo and her statue.
We also saw numerous statues of various Italian people including Dante.
We also saw the coliseum and took photos with some "pretend" Roman soldiers (originally from Romania).  I could not believe how many Romanians we saw in Italy - Roxy was pointing out to me every second person as they were speaking Romanian.  I was very surprised.
Since we didn't have all the time in the world we decided to take a little "train" (on petrol) for a small tour of Verona.  Well, that was a mistake...  The carriages had no suspension what so ever and I could take no photos.  It was traveling at 100km/h and with the engine screaming we couldn't hear the pre-recorded English guide.  Once it was finished we went for a walk ourselves - it was better. ;-)
Around 1pm we left for Milano.  Apart from being hot there were no traffic jams and we arrived around 3pm.
One mistake we've done was that we didn't have lunch in Verona.  We didn't know that in Milano you get charged for the "service tip" (servizio).  Also the pizza we ate in Croatia was way better than the one here.  It was like a frozen pizza baked in oven.  That was a bit disappointing.
Apart from that Milano is a beautiful city and a maaaassssiivvvveeee city.  There are many old buildings and wide streets.
The pinnacle of what we saw in Milano was the Cathedral in the city centre.  We took the stairs up (167 of them!!! Yes we counted them).  The view from the top was fabulous (see photos).
After about 2 hours of walking through the shops with Roxy (I just about had enough of shops for a year) we were finished.
We are sleeping tonight in the city of Como - a very beautiful city.
Tomorrow we are heading toward Germany through Switzerland, Lichtenstein and Austria.  We are expecting some great scenery.  I guess the photos will tell. ;-)
Until then bye.
