Hi all!
Last few days we spent in Daruvar where my auntie and one of my cousins live (with their families).  Daruvar is a beautiful small city and was voted the nicest town in Croatia 2 years ago.  The thing that I noticed is that people are very friendly (compared to all other countries we've been to in Europe) everywhere we've been in Croatia (this is without bias - ask Roxy).
Anyway, after breakfast on Friday morning we left Vinkovci to go to Daruvar.  We took the freeway and it took us about 2 and a half hours to get there.  The roads were good and that was a good thing.  On the way there we still saw a few buildings that were damaged from the war (see photos).  Most of the affected areas have been rebuilt with new houses but a few for some reason have been left untouched.
When we arrived in Daruvar we said hi to everybody and then my father in law realized that he forgot to take his shirt for church.  So we went to the centre of town to buy a shirt for him - in the end I got one too. :-)  A pink one! :P (obviously picked by Roxy).
The city center is very nice (see photos).  We also went through a park where we saw a number of squirrels and took some more photos.  We also saw the famous "Daruvar Toplice" - the lakes containing special thermal water that helps with arthritis, knee joints, etc.
On Friday night all family from Daruvar came to the Auntie's place where we spent time talking and looking at various photos.
Saturday morning we went to Daruvar church which was only recently renovated - pretty impressive little building.  After church we took photos with family while we where still nicely dressed.
After having a decent lunch we went to a city called Virovitica where my other cousin lives.  We spent the whole afternoon there.  We ate home made bread and other pastries.  Not to mention home made desserts including baklava.
Finally about 11pm we packed ourselves and went back to Daruvar.
Sunday was spent more time with our family.  I played "leggo blocks" with my cousin's girls and was laughed at (because of my awesome creations).  "Maybe because he made a house without door (a 4 year old girl had to remind him) and a plane without wings but with stairs..."  (Roxy's insertion)
We also managed to find time to go to thermal water pools.  The water was very warm (35 degrees) but luckily they also had a cold pool outside.
Tomorrow morning we are leaving to the Adriatic coast.  We are all excited and we hope we'll have good time.
