Today was a day set aside for sight seeing.
We (us, Roxy's parents, Roxy's grandparents, and Roxy's auntie with her family) visited two "women" monasteries (Varatec and Agapia Monasteries) and one "men" monastery( Neamt Monastery).  We also visited an animal park, a fortress and we visited the place of residence of an well known Romanian author Mihail Sadoveanu (for Roxy's sake :-) ).
Romania is a religious country (most are Orthodox) and it has a lot of monasteries.
Agapia and Varatec Monasteries looked fairly similar.  They are basically in a rectangular shape (containing the residences for the nuns) and in the middle they have a church. The church is very dark on the inside with a lot of paintings.  There are also various icons in there to which people kiss, pray and "cross" themselves.  I was not allowed to take any photos in there but I managed a few without flash.
Neamt Monastery was bigger than the other two and you could tell only men are in there.  I even managed to get a photo with one of the guys living there.
The funny thing was when we came to this monastery the prices were as follows:
Kids: 1 Lei
Romanian Adults: 2 Lei
Foreigners: 4 Lei
You can imagine I spoke no English word at the entrance and Roxy did all the talking 1-Varatec Monastery

For lunch we stopped at one of the fields and had picnic lunch.
We also went to see Cetatea Neamtului fortress but unfortunately they were doing some refurbishments and we couldn't go in.  I managed to get some photos from the distance thou.
Finally we went to an animal park where we saw Romanian animals like deers, bears, foxes, various birds, etc.  Unfortunately there were no "Zimbri" (apparently they were hiding) as they are associated with Romania.
In the photos you can see some of the nature we went through.  It's pretty nice.
To top the day off we all came to Roxy's parents house and had dinner together and finally we will have a descent sleep tonight.
The plan is to go to a place called Vatra Dornei tomorrow where most of my father-in-law's family lives.
So until then good bye.
