Today we had a really early start! We woke up at 4:30 am were in the hotel lobby by 4:55am and in the taxi by 5am.  Our train left at 5:30am towards New York.  Luckily, all three of us slept on the train to catch up on lost time.
We arrived at Penn Station, New York around 8:30am.  It’s another freezing day in America.  We managed to check in into our hotel and by 9 we were already on our way.  Today on the agenda was the Rockefeller Centre (“Top of the Rock”).  Since we went quite early, there were no queues or long waiting times.  Apparently if you go towards the evening the waiting time are up to 3 hours!!!
It was good to see New York from above.  Just Manhattan is huge - imagine the whole of New York (almost the population of Australia).
Once we came down we went to the front of the building where they have a huge Christmas tree and an ice skating ring.
Close by was a Lego store - there were so many people in there that you could barely move around (we saw a lot of adult kids as well ;-)).
Next on the agenda the 5th Avenue...  For those of you who don’t know, 5th Avenue is where all the shopping is done in Manhattan.  Certain intersections were guarded by NY Police to keep pedestrians in line.  It was pretty crazy.
Some of the things we saw was the Trump Tower, NBA (basketball) store, an awesome Apple store (see photos), FAO Swartz (an awesome toy store where you can get lost), a million clothing/shoes shops and everywhere people buying like there is no tomorrow.  It was quite a scene...
Needless to say I am stuffed and when we came home, I was falling asleep feeding Mattias.
I have respectfully requested from my higher powers a bludge day tomorrow - let’s hope my wish will be granted. ;-)
