Today we had to get up early as well as we had a tour booked in the Capitol (equivalent of the Parliament House).  We arrived there at about 8:15am for the 8:30 opening.  The building is big but but impressive in the same time.  The tour of the building is average as the only places they took us was in the various “halls” with significant number of statues of important people in American history.  You are not able to visit The House of Representatives and the Senate (like in Australia).
From the Capitol we walked through an underground tunnel to The Congress Library.  Now this building was awesome.  The architecture was simply great.  They have hundreds of millions artifacts from all over the world.  Some of the rarest documents are found here like the first printed Bible, some of the earliest Chinese artifacts, etc. This was something I never thought existed in US.
From there we had some lunch and went on a photography tour around the Capitol Hill.  We saw many squirrels as we made our way to the Union Station to take the Subway to see the Pentagon.  I never knew Pentagon is actually a city.  As we arrived at the Pentagon Subway station and came out, the Pentagon Police saw us and as soon as they saw me with a camera one of the guys was with us in a flash.  He told us we are not allowed to take any photos of the Pentagon building under any circumstances.  We were only take some photos of the Pentagon Memorial.  I know Pentagon is the largest building in the world (area wise) but the building is nothing special from the outside.  It’s a bit overrated.
Anyway, after Pentagon we made our way back to the hotel, ready for some good rest.
