Where I stayed
Roxy stopped yesterdays blog just before we went to dinner... well I think last night deserves a special mention. It was the birthday dinner for Roxy. If it wasn’t for one of the ladies at customer service it could have been a disaster. Well she helped me get the flowers delivered to the hotel. But more importantly she helped me organise the delievry of Roxy’s favourite dessert - Tiramisu (those Italians - you make my life too hard). I tried for 2 days to find Tiramisu and without luck but yesterday afternoon there was finally a resolution to my problem. The customer service lady went herself and picked up the dessert from a place she personally knows make great Tiramisu.
After some diversions (for Roxy) I managed to go to one of the hotel restaurants and organised for them to set up the table with flowers and they were going to bring out the dessert
We put Mattias to sleep and we went to dinner. The waiters knew about our table and they took us straight there. The set it up really nicely with flower petals all over the table (see pictures). We had our dinner and even though it was a buffet restaurant, the waiter brought out the dessert. Roxy was surprised and according to her it was a great Tiramisu. (It better have been because it caused me a lot of trouble!!!!)
Following our dinner we went to our room and went to “sleep” (of course!!!). ;-)
This morning was pretty low key, we went and took some photos on the beach, had breakfast and to top it off we went for a swim in the pool.
We checked out at 12:00 (how nice is that!) and at around 14:30 we were picked up to go to the airport. Our plane to Villahermosa was slightly delayed but nothing major. Mattias entertained half of the plane and kept us both on our toes.
We are happy that we made it safely considering how our flight attendant was: first she couldn’t stop laughing while welcoming the passengers in the plane, then while pushing the food trolley, all the drinks fell from the trolley on the plane’s floor (and she did this twice as our plane had one stop in Merida) and most important thing: she didn’t even bother presenting us the security instructions at the beginning of the flight (probably from too much laughing) and she just told us that we have the safety instructions in the seat pocket.
Now the biggest problem is the heat - MAN!!! If we survive the next week and a half - that will be a miracle.
Now we are off to bed to try to get some rest. At least our bedroom has air-conditioning.
