Today we woke up around 3 only because Mattias made a noise.  A person who shall not be identified (otherwise I will sleep in the dog house tonight - if there is one) didn’t put the alarm at the right time. Fortunately we still managed to get to the airport those 3 magical hours before leaving.  And now I know why 3 hours... There was only one lady working at the Air Mexicana checkin counters and she was taking about 5 minutes per customer.  There were other staff there too but were trying to look busy doing nothing. When our turn came they asked us if we payed airport taxes for Mattias.  Well we didn’t know what an airport tax for a baby is but we showed the lady what we did pay for Mattias.  It took them 10 minutes to verify all the fees were paid.  Then they gave us tickets with a wrong connecting flight in Mexico city.  They said they can’t give us our original flight as it is fully booked - in other words they overbooked the flight.
Anyway, we went through customs with no incidents (even for Roxy this time). :-)  The 3 hour flight went smoothly and Mattias slept for the majority of it.  As we approached Mexico City we could not believe the size of the city - it was huge!  You just couldn’t see the end anywhere.
The stopover was ok and we were finally on our last flight to Cancun.  We arrived around 4pm local time, got our luggage, passed quickly through customs - here they ask you to press a button. If it’s green they let you go, if it’s red than they unpack all your luggage and check you. I pressed and got green so we had no problems. With some difficulty found our transport company who was quite professional and friendly.  Everybody was trying to “offer” us transport and was pestering us to use them.
As we were driving to our resort, man, the size of the resorts here is unbelievable.  And so many of them - for kilometers and kilometers just resorts!   When you think they purpose built this area for tourists only - its quite remarkable.
As we got to our hotel - you should see the hotel lobby...  The best part was that all the food, drinks, activities at the resort are all included in the price we paid.  This is a concept hard for me to grasp at this moment.
Our room is nice and we have a nice view of the beautifully coloured ocean.
Let the relaxation begin... :-)
