Everyone has a cell phone...they all have dangling things on them.....charms...small stuffed animal..bling...even the men have manly things...But NO one talks on them on the trains, buses, restaurants, etc. There is a lot of texting going on...but no talking.

There are lots of bikes and scooters....besides trains and buses...this is a main means of transportation. There are hardly any locks on the bikes or scooters. There is very little crime.

It is very clean here....there are men sweeping the sidewalks and paths. The brooms look handmade.

Small stores are on the first floor of the apartment buildings. There is no parking in front of these stores. Everyone walks or rides bikes to the store. I walk to the Food Express almost daily (just across the street). I have a "friend" there ( a cashier who speaks some English). She tells me when she is going to be off so that I can shop while she is there and get her help if I need it.

We had an amazing weekend. Mark and I spent Saturday with a co-worker, Taku. He took us for a traditional Japanese lunch. Then toured Kawagoe ( steeped in a history of 350 years) saw many temples, lots of good food and things that we don't really know what they were. Taku then took us to his family home in Ogawa. We were honored to have a traditional family meal with them. It was an incredible day with so many sweet memories!

Sunday was spent at Tokyo Tower!! Went by another temple...can't remember the name. There is so much that I don't understand about these temples.

I am learning the train system....Yeah!
