Well, I'm sitting in my DC hotel room without internet so I'm improvising. Its 8:30AM, and while I've only gotten 6 or 7 hours of sleep (compared with my summer average of 9) I can't sleep. Its finally hitting me! I'm leaving for India today! But, maybe its better this way. I should be sleeping on the airplane to avoid jet lag, and I certainly won't be able to if I'm not really tired...
Yesterday we went out to dinner at this soul food restraunt. It wasn't exactly what I would have picked for my last dinner in the US, but they had good desert!
I was supposed to have a roommate in the hotel, but I think she doesn't exist. My roommate is named Jessica, and there is someone with her last name named Melissa. So I'm guessing there was some error there, and I just lucked out!
So we're leaving for the airport today at noon, but our flight doesn't leave until 6. Maybe I'll get another "random" search while going through security. All three Infosys people on my flight got randomly searched, somehow I don't think it was that random. Also, my bags are unmanageable! They are big, and one weighs 98lbs (just under the 100lb limit) and the other is 73lbs. So I've already needed help with them numerous times, and I think I'll just have to play the helpless girl card again today. (There are 73 guys, and 20 girls, I think someone will help me!)
Next time you hear from me I'll be in my dorm room in India! (Well, most likely at least) We are getting there Saturday morning around 3AM, and have the day to ourselves. Sunday there is an organized trip into Mysore to explore and see the Mysore Palace.
By the way, Suruchi and Beth: I found someone to make the remix we wanted!! Having computer people around me has some big perks!!

View from the Bar in DC
Then we went to Georgetown to this outdoor bar called Tony and Joes with a fountain on one side and a lake on the other. It was a nice place, and we all just spent the day getting to know a lot of people. Luckily there were no icebreaker activities or anything like that because, who actually enjoys those? As it turns out, there are a lot of cool people here! I was a little worried about that before I actually arrived in DC, but nearly everyone I talked to had something interesting to say. There are a lot of people working in Chicago with me, too. And a lot of people who aren't in Chicago still had it as their first choice. I guess I'm lucky I got it!
