The day started off real slow due to making several calls with United Airlines and American Airlines.  It took me nearly two hours dealing with these two airline companies.  Traci was kind enough to bring me a cup of coffee and a breakfast plate.  After breakfast, we got ourselves cleaned up and went out to explore Quito once again.

We managed to locate two outdoor stores and made several purchases for myself.  I was able to wear a different outfit today.  Sure, it was a great moment for me.  Anyways, we hopped into a taxi and went to El Panecillo.  El Panecillo is a major Quito landmark and it is topped by a huge status of La Virgen de Quito, with a crown of stars, angelic wings and a chained dragon atop the world.  This place also has a great 360-degree views of Quito!  Then, we went to visit Ecuador's most ornate church, La Compania de Jesus, which was built in 1605 and completed 160 years later.  Unfortunately, we were not able to take any pictures inside the church.

We walked around the Old Town and spotted a lady selling an Ecuadorian Ice Cream.  Of course, we decided to treat ourselves with sweets.  The taste was different and also unique.  It was more like a sweeten whipping cream.  The wafer cone really balanced the flavor altogether.  Hey, they cost us only a dollar.

After that, we had to return to our hostal and made several calls with United Airlines and American Airlines.  That took me a little over two hours!  Unfortunately, I did not have much of a success at all.  Needless to say more here, other than the fact that I was very frustrated.

We were hungry and went out looking for something to eat.  Unexpectedly, we stopped at a local store and purchased a variety of fresh Ecuador breads.  We found a small cafe and ordered hot drinks to go with the breads.  While we were eating, Quito experienced a heavy rain for a short time.  The cafe closed pretty early and kicked us out to the curb.
