Day 2 of our boat ride saw us at a beautiful 3 teared waterfall with crystal clear water running into the murky Beni river so, a good excuse for a wash. After sorting that out I tried a spot of fishing and got completely ransacked by Sand flies. These invisible little bastards are totally unstoppable they have no worries about Deet and you don't even know they've got ya until your foot swells up from receiving an uncountable number of attacks. They leave behind a lovely red spot of blood and then itch like hell for days to weeks afterward so socks and long layers from then on in!
After continuing further upstream we made a quick and easy camp from palm stems, mozzie nets and a plastic sheets before eating dinner beside the fire.
