had a blown head gasket and the mechanic said it was cheaper to replace
the engine. At that point we started calling Uhaul locations for
a carrier. We found one 30 minutes up the road so we took a taxi
there, got a 14' box truck (the smallest they had) and a car carrier
trailer. We then drove it back to the repair shop, loaded the
Jeep and headed out about noon. We made it a good distance today,
getting just past Lexington KY so tomorrow we should be in Nelson,
VA. It was a relief to get on the road today even if the Jeep is
dead. At this point, we just want to get home. Beth called
the General Lewis Inn (our next stop we were to stay at) and cancelled
since we would not make it in time. Since it is so close, a long
weekend would allow us to go there in the future, we just won't be
taking the Jeep. We refrained from taking pictures today as well
since the only good shot was the Jeep on the trailer.
