friday morning we made our way from buenos aires to punta del este, uruguay. we took a ferry to colonia, across the river from buenos aires, and then a bus over to punta. itīs so much calmer here. this is the premier resort destination in south america, but really only for about a month or so. now itīs getting cold, so not so many tourists. in fact many business are closed down now. we wanted to go out to a club on saturday night, but the majority are closed. a guy at the resort said there were a couple that were open, but they didnīt start getting full until around 2 or 3, and then people partied until 6 or so. ahh...weīre not that into clubbing. weīre staying at the solanas resort, Thanks Grandad!!!! and since itīs low season, we got upgraded to a better room. this one has a kitchen so weīve been able to cook our own meals.
weīve gone into punta del este the last couple of days, but itīs been so chilly we havenīt gone swimming yet

. we went to the beach yesterday, but it was so windy we quickly ate our picnic and left. mostly weīve just been relaxing, enjoying not having to do all the touristy things. now weīre just trying to figure out what to do with our last week. i canīt believe it. weīll be home in a week and a half. itīs weird, it seems like weīve been gone forever, but at the same time, i canīt believe itīs over already. from here weīre going to go to iguazu falls and to visit a friend in corrientes. we decided to fly from buenos aires to lima, where our flight home is from. we were thinking about the bus, but it takes at least 3 days, and we wanted to be able to relax here a little while longer. well, i guess thatīs all for now. p.s. GO CUBS!!!!!! this is the year, i can feel it.

I have been thinking of you more than normal 'cuz all the talk about the Cubs' opener today. Last I heard they were tied.
Glad you are relaxing and enjoying the place and that you got an upgrade. That makes it really nice. I will let Grandad know. Just sorry it is starting to get chilly for you. No coming home with a tan, now.
