Saturday morning we packed up camp and headed out. as we drove out of town i looked at something i had underlined about la serena. one of the hostelīs had a cobbler who made "chileīs cutest shoes". ismael, being the wonderful husband he is, insisted we go an look. he didnīt want me to regret not going. back into town and to the hostel. the cobbler wasnīt there, but he had a little shop in town and they showed me a flier of his shoes. honestly, not very cute. we decided to try to find the shop though. no luck. but ismael was able to buy a metallica tape (notice i said tape) for the car since the majority of our drive was between radio stations. then out of town again.
we decided to drive down a smaller coastal highway towards the end of our trip to try to find beach camping. turns out, they donīt let you camp on the beach, and they pretty much donīt have any camping, anywhere. by then it was getting dark and we were desperate to find anything. after about an hour of driving from town to town, we finally found camping up in the woods in la laguna. however, the man at reception said he didnīt have anything, just a small space with no table or chairs, no electricity and no grill. we said we would take anything, we just needed a place to sleep, so we went and set up our tent and tried to start a fire for dinner. there were three guys next to us with a guitar and a hand drum. the one singing really couldnīt sing. i was wondering, were his friends being good friends for not killing his dream of singing, or being bad friends by not telling him the truth that he sucks?
well, those three guys suddenly became a party of 12 people, and to the drums and guitar they added maracas, and more people who couldnīt sing. knowing weīd get no sleep next to them, we went to ask the man at the reception if we could move to a similar spot a few down from where we were. he understood that we wanted a place that was quiet, so he and ismael walked around looking for something. we ended up camping in the corner of a soccer field. but it was quiet, although we could faintly hear the bad singing floating to us on the breeze. .

Hi
Good job on catching us up on your activities. So are you going to be the big camping family after this? God is sending you nice people to take care of you and get you places you can sleep. Thank Him for it.
Ismael says you are at a hotel now so I'm sure you are more comfortable.
How come no map? You two would be great on the Amazing Race. Wish you could do it.
Blessings,
mom
