Back in Belem, our home base for the past couple of weeks.  We did a little Christmas shopping, bought ourselves body boards for Christmas, picked up the ingredients for Erin's white chocolate peppermint dessert so that she could bring a little taste of home to Brazil, and did a little more site seeing in Belem.

We spent one afternoon in Mangal das Garças (Stork Mangrove), which was really nice.  Started off with an all you can eat delicious buffet with all inclusive dessert.  Then we walked down the pier to see the river

 and the dozens of storks walking in the mangrove, and walked around the butterfly exhibit, birds exhibit

, and were about to climb the viewing tower when threatening clouds appeared in the horizon, and we decided against spending the $1.50/person to get struck by lightening.
