What a trip to the border from Siem Reap. Mudslide for a road and a few hairy moments later we made it to the border and booked a seat on a bus/ferry journey going south to the coast and the Island of Koh Chang.
Our hotel room was fantastic, one of the benefits of travelling in the rainy season. We got a HUGE room/suite complete with free internet and the cherry on top...a Jacuzzi built for 2 or 3!! The weather during our one week stay was completely overcast; rainy and windy all the time. I think we caught the tail end of the cyclone that hit Burma. We actually enjoyed our time in Koh Chang, a very relaxed Island where we recuperated and relaxed in our room after the hectic schedule we had been following.
We visited a cool Irish bar called Paddy Palms and lots of local bars and enjoyed the craic and food with the locals. We were staying beside the largest live event venue on the Island called Sabay and we got to know the fire performers who delivered spectacular fire shows each night. They spent all day practising on the beach every day! Feeling rested and relaxed we were ready for the party capital of Thailand...Pattaya. More thumbnails ...
