Pune has over doubled in size from 2 to 4 million in the last ten years purely because of the IT boom thats occurring here but even still as we explored the crowded city markets, visited and got blessed in a famous Ganesh temple we felt very at home and at ease here.
We visited an Indian branch of my old company Symantec and I finally met face to face with so many of the team I had worked with online and over the phone for so many years. They brought us out to lunch at a typical Maharastran vegetarian restaurant; the food was some of the best we've had in India.
I also got the chance to call over and have dinner with Anish Patankar and his family. Anish was my first manager in Symantec during my contracting days and he is now the IT director of BMC Software in India. Great catching up and remembering some war stories and nights out in Dublin.
So we're all recharged and ready for the next adventure with Saurabh and Jyoti!
Goa is in Carnival and tomorrow is valentines days...bring it on!
