Along with the giddyness is a humbling, overwhelming sense of the additional responsibility we are assuming in a few days. It's just like when we first went to get Laura and Matthew - becoming a parent and now doing it again. How much must the Lord love us to allow us this privilege to guide His children towards Him.
We drove to Texas yesterday, and even though the kiddos were hesitant about us being gone for two weeks, they are looking forward to doing school with our friend Mrs. Eileen and having fun in the afternoons with all the different activities there are to do in Denton, TX. :) There really is more than I thought there would be - they will have a nice distraction while we are gone.
We drove down to Houston this morning, and I forgot how beautiful the drive is on I-45 between Dallas and Houston. We got a good deal on parking and a great shuttle to the front door. Our flight leaves at 5:pm today and arrives in Moscow tomorrow, Sunday, at 2:30pm. It's about a 12 hour flight. We will be 9 hours ahead of the Central Time zone. We then take a train at 8pm and arrive in Penza at am on Monday morning.
We have three specific requests - maybe four. :)
1. Our 8 medical letters will be delivered to nurses, in Russia who will approve of them and confirm we are healthy in 8 different areas. This is routine and there is no reason to be concerned. It just needs to be done, so we have learned to not take anything for granted. This will take place on Monday - or very late Sunday night and early Monday morning your time.
2. We will arrive in Penza on Monday morning, and we will go straight to the orphanage to see the boys. The social worker from the Minister of Education's office will come and observe us and write a report. This is routine also, but please pray that nothing prevents this from being done - the social worker is able to make it and able to write her report quickly. The orphanage is 2 hours away from Penza, so we are praying for traveling conditions to be favorable and no issues coming up going and coming back. This is also Monday morning for us - so the wee hours of Monday morning for y'all.
3. Please pray Monday night for our court date on Tuesday morning at 10am. The judge is favorable towards our agency and their families, but please pray that we can answer all the questions and not be nervous as it is actual court and important. Once court is over - the boys are officially ours! :)
4. Please pray for our hotel. Apparently this is a busy travel season, and we have been told that we have the nicer hotel for the first two nights so far, then we will have to move to another hotel that we do not know about yet. So, please pray for those details to work out.
We request prayer for a safe flight and a safe train trip Sunday night to Penza. Thank you for your prayers and support, and we will be in contact with details.
