I travelled up to Buena Vista with a few things to do up there. I needed to see more of the town as the tourist office only send people there to go into the jungle.

I met up with Kat, a US Peace Corps volunteer, who was going to show me around. We went down to the Hotel Amboro who have some mountain bikes to hire. After a nice lunch on the veranda, looking out on the plain and the jungle, we set off on the bikes. They were not the best but they were all that are on offer! The brakes were not brilliant and I ended up falling off onto the rough track we were travelling.

Then we got to the coffee plantation. It was excellent. We walked around the shaded areas where the coffee is grown, saw all of the equipment, and then got to taste the excellent coffee. I find it amazing that even Bolivians have no idea such good quality coffee is available on their doorstep.

In the evening Kat and her friends were watching a dodgy DVD of Farenheit 9/11. It made for an interesting evenng of political discussion!
