I have learn't 4 very important things so far.
#1. No bus is ever too full. For anyone who has never seen a standard school bus with 150 people on it, let me tell you, its like seeing fat bastard sweating in a bikini.. busting at the seams and so unappealing.
#2. If you want to get somewhere quickly, run. A twenty min drive by car=2 hours on a stuffed passed capacity bus.
#3. Refridgeration is never necessary. Doesn't matter if it's pork, beef, chicken or fish; doesn't matter if it died 4 hours or 4 days ago, it most definately has never seen a fridge.
#4. When it rains, it floods. Had to literally swim home the other day when I was caught in the middle of a rain storm on my evening run. Thank god I didn't fall into one of the many deep potholes.
I spent the day at La Boquita beach today. The water was like a lukewarm bathtub and the sun was strong enough to coax even the darkest skin into the shade. So amazing though. Beaches here are clean and the restaurants line the surf. I am definately going to be making many return trips.
Other than that, not too much to report besides that there is a tone deaf band across the street which practices at 2 a.m. (probably because they dont want anyone to hear them) and there is an armadillo living in the attic. Between the two, earplugs and sleepy tea have become a bedtime routine. I'm not too upset about it though, the armadillo thing is quite fun to think about, but the band, on the other hand, had better watch itself once I learn how to say " Shut the Fuck UP!' in spanish.
