So, after a day spent in Mumbai airport, we finally flew to Singapore, land of organisation and cleanliness - the polar opposite of the land we had just been in...immediately everything was shiny and clean, and we very effieciently got a taxi to Dom's sister's house. (forgot to mention that during the 5 hour plane journey during the night, dominic discovered there was free alcohol to be had, and stayed up drinking JD and coke brought to him by the air stewardesses, so at 8 am when we landed he'd not slept for two days and drunk a considerable amount of alcohol...!)

All we did in Singapore was sleep until about midday, swim in the pool and go to the food markets.
One night we had a few beers and went to the biggest food centre - Newton - where the lady persuaded us we hadn't ordered enough food. In our tipsy state we ended up getting...chilli crab, chilli squid, kangkong (very spicy green vegetable) lemon chicken & fried rice - all portions big enough for 4 people, but there was just the two of us. the food was incredible, but far too much, we managed it though...

Dom's sister and her husband took us out to lots of restaurants and bars, and we found a few of our own too. Our favourite was the ice bar - the first part is made of ice (hence the name!) so when the heat of singaopre gets too much then its the best place to go , although you can only spend about 2 mins in that part, but the back bar is nicely chilled.

However, it's impossible to get drunk in humid climates. A little bit merry is as far as it goes - it must be something to do with the way the body deals with the heat - the alcohol evaporates too quickly!

There's nothing much else to say about singapore, we didnt do any sightseeing, we just recuperated from india and spent time with Rowena & Andy ( Dom hasn't seen his sister for 5 years)

we went to a dance festival...!on a beach on an island off singapore (although in tru singapore style there was a barrier between the sea and the beach so noone could drown by swimming, and lifeguards and police patroling the other side just in case.) there were three searches before entry as well to check for drugs...so only legal fun to be had there.

It was pretty funny, we danced to cheesy disco, and waited for Cash Money (big international hip hop dj) however, when he came on he played cheese like all the rest. There was an incredible thunder storm and everyone got drenched.
we came home on the first train at 8am, people going to work thought there'd been some kind og massacre as all these wide eyed wet people sat like zombies all over their usually deserted train...

once we've washed all our clothes and relaxed in the pool a bit more, we're off round Malaysia,

check out my pictures and videos of zoukout once i manage to put them on..
