I'm not much into health food..
but daamn, I'm into the Bahamas.
They don't call it Paradise Island for nothing!
What more could a girl ask for?
Ohhh, that's right, a booze cruise!
We fit that in too, of course, on the second day along with trying Conch and cruising the Nassau markets. The cruise included snorkelling, which was something of a bust. The Bahamas is pretty but the ocean life is nothing compared to that of Australia, I mean, the activity levels about the same but it's all in greyscale. Safe to say we floated around a bit, took some underwater snaps and then went back up on deck for lunch & free cocktails. Finally we got dropped off at a lovely private beach to relax, watch the jet-skis, take some more random water shots and of course, further utilise the free cocktails. Then it was back up to the top-deck of the boat that had now been cleared of chairs so as the 'party boat' aspect could kick in. At first everyone was somehow hesitant to get up and dance, so it was rather reminiscent of awkward school disco.. but thankfully a few more drinks and the limbo stick being pulled out fixed that problem. Now I've gotta say, I'm actually quite surprised at how well limbo went and rather proud to say I made it further than expected, especially considering that a) I was easily the tallest girl on the boat, b) the boat was rocking back & forth like an absolute biiiitch and c) I was by this time slightly inebriated (did I mention there were free cocktails?).
But nonetheless it was ridiculously fun, and after which point we'd successfully consumed enough to not care about dancing, so the rest of the boat ride went wonderfully, though with the waves of the ocean I feel most people actually spilt at least a third of what they drinked.. or maybe that was just me.. I also got to throw a drink in someone's face (LOL sorry Kale, you deserved it, love you!).
Sadly the booze cruise had to come to an end, and it was back to the beach to swim and attempt (key word being attempt) to take some more water photos.. I got some lovely shots of a random arm.. an elbow.. half a birds wing.. empty ocean.. they were 'artsy' if you ask me!
And then before we knew it, it was time for us to head back to the airport (in which they don't even check your bags, just wave you right on through, they're just chillin') for another lifetime spent on planes and at airports for stopovers. As sad as I was that the trip was over, I've never been so happy to arrive home to my own bed after the amount of time spent sitting on plane seats and waiting gate chairs! And it was probably good to finally let my body detox.. there's only so many Bahama mamas a girl can drink!
