I've found the most amazing place on earth.
There's a reason it's called GREAT America.
backwards, sitting down, lying on my stomach, standing
(yes, as in standing up!), and in complete darkness.
I also survived the oh-so-adequately named 'Mega Wedgie',
a 80 degree free fall waterslide where you quite literally
stand in a tube & they drop the floor out from beneath you.
The single most exhilarating feeling in the world!
We stayed til dark, which actually made me feel like less
of a traitor to my own. Because as much as there is no
doubting that Six Flags beats anything we have back home
in Australia (MAYBE with the exception of Dreamworld but
I'm not authorised to judge on that one), when the sun sets
& the lights go down .. it's somewhat too dull. I guess I'm
just used to that of Luna Park, with all it's bright lights &
carnival feel, so I did have some high expectations. It was
kinda nice to realise the shortfalls of this amazing park,
reminding me Sydney will always be home
& no other city can ever fully measure up (:
I do love amusement parks though. I feel as if life is nothing
but chasing that feeling. The butterflies in your stomach
right before the floor drops out from underneath you. The
moment at the top end of the pirate ship when you're
suspended in the air for those few precious seconds,
stuck between going up & coming down. And that first
peak of the rollercoaster, when you see the whole track
ahead of you, & you're deliriously terrified & unequivocally
excited at the same time. I will search my whole life to
keep feeling like that. I will (as proven) move countries &
start over just to feel it. The feeling of new. Of adrenaline
rushes & sugar highs. Of knowing, every moment, that your
life is about to change forever. & of loving every second of it.
