After leaving the Grand Canyon we had a big drive to Las Vegas. On the way, we went onto Route 66! That was pretty cool, and we stopped at this famous ice cream shop where loads of celebraties have been. We were all queuing for ice cream but we had to leave before most of us got any as we were running late! So it was on the bus for a long drive to Las Vegas. When we arrived, a few people went to check into their hotels, and the rest of us went exploring.

Wow, Las Vegas was weird. It's like a big plastic city, all fake and shiny with big lights everywhere. Quite a culture shock after spending so long in the wilderness! We went to the very end of the strip and had a look at a few of the big casinos, before meeting up with everyone for a big buffet together at Luxor. Then it was time to see Las Vegas at night. It was pretty amazing. The lights are fantastic, and the casinos are huggge. Eventually we got down to the Bellagio in time to see the water show. The music was 'All That Jazz' and it was sooo cool! It's amazing how they time all the fountains to match the music. We then had to say goodbye to a couple of the guys. That was really sad, and after we left them, another water show started, and it was 'Your Song' by Elton John, which started me and Olga off crying!

We then had a bit of a desperate run back to the bus as we didn't want it to leave without us! But we did have time to pose outside the wedding chapel! And then it was time for our last night drive together, and our last night together ever! The day we arrived back in San Francisco. We said goodbye to the second group, but that evening our group all met up for dinner together. I was going to go back to Fairfax, but the buses were being a pain, so luckily my friend let me stay in their hotel room, which saved me the trouble. Because, as I've failed to mention, I'd decided to join the 4 day Yosemite trip that left the next day! A lot of my friends from the Parks loop were going, and Lukas was driving, and everyone had been saying how amazing it was, so I thought, why not! But that night we said some tearful goodbyes to everyone who wasn't going to Yosemite. We had become a really close group, and I burst into tears multiple times. I'm so glad I made the decision to stay on the bus. I had so truly magical experiences that would never have happened if I'd gone back to San Francisco. One of the best decisions of my trip!
