Where I stayed
What I did
It was probably the best bus journey of my trip. It was just our small group, who had been together from the start (I call them 'The Originals'), and we were on a smaller bus, so it felt like a group of friends on a road trip together, which I suppose it was really
After a long day's driving, we finally hit Queenstown, the adventure and party capital of New Zealand! It was a bitter sweet feeling arriving. I had been looking forward to seeing Queenstown, but also knew that these would be the last few days with my friends. Anyway, we had one last group photo in front of the bus, then unpacked and got ready for our first night out in Queenstown. And it didn't fail to deliver. We had a great night out in some cool bars.
I spent my first day in Queenstown rather sedately, doing some much needed shopping, and just walking around the town. It wasn't anything like I expected it to be. It's a really pretty town, sitting next a royal blue lake, with mountains on every side. Absolutely stunning. That night I had my first Fergburger, something I had been eagerly waiting for. Fergburger is a world famous burger bar, and it didn't disappoint. No exaggeration, it was the best burger I've ever had. The burgers are huge, packed with flavour, and so delicious
The next day I walked up Queenstown Hill, which was actually quite difficult! It was a steep walk to the top, but the views were worth it. And the walk back through the pine forest was really nice, with these red toadstools everywhere! Then it was partying, partying, and more partying! You party every night in Queenstown!
And lots of tearful goodbyes, as our group went their separate ways. I never expected to stay with the same group of people for so long, but I'm so glad I did as every one of them is amazing, and I'm feel so privileged that I got to spend such a long time with them all. They made my trip down the Queenstown. Without them, it wouldn't have been as amazing as it was!
