Great Grandma Mimi Gray in Dallas, Texas
Great Grandma Mimi Gray in Dallas, Texas

Construction on I-20 had us sitting for close to an hour.  That blew my last chance at sneaking off the road for a little sightseeing.  We passed the oil wells in Kilgore, the roses in Tyler, and First Monday Park and the insane asylum in Terrell.

We reached Barbara's Mom's house at about 4:30.  Mimi Gray is 85 and looks and acts 20 years younger!  She's amazing.  We just talked, and she prepared a wonderful meal.

This is our first Thanksgiving without Papa.  Barbara's Dad died in June, and my Dad died in February.  Tough year!  We know they are with us in spirit.  We will spill something on our shirts in their honor at Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow.

We'll be doing something tomorrow that we NEVER DO!  We will be rooting for the Texas Aggies to beat the Texas Longhorns.  I almost derive more pleasure out of seeing the Aggies lose than I do from seeing Texas Tech win.  But with our Red Raiders, Texas, and Oklahoma all at 11-1 and with BCS bowl bids at stake, we will cheer like crazy for the Aggies to upset the Longhorns and for Oklahoma State to upset OU on Saturday.

Various sights and Dallas tours will be seen on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday when we aren't eating, visiting family, or watching football.  Then it's off to Paris!!!
