As we passed up several spots I wanted to visit in my junior high school days town of Shreveport, Louisiana, I suggested that we exit just a few miles off the Interstate to visit the bayou town of Jefferson, Texas for lunch at a local spot.  Unfortunately, the exit off I-20 was closed due to construction.  We tried to get there from the next exit, but it was going to take too long, so we drove into Marshall, Texas instead.

Along the way, we spotted the World's Largest Hay Bale Turkey in a field at Albert Agnors' ranch.  A nice find on the way to Thanksgiving at Great Grandma's House.

Elc Chico's -- Great Tex Mex in Marshall, TX
Elc Chico's -- Great Tex Mex in Marshall, TX
When we saw the El Chico sign in Marshall, we had to stop for a Tex-Mex fix.  The food was great, and our waitress, Sharon, took great care of us.  My cheese enchiladas were as good as I have ever had.  The Mexican food in Atlanta is poor, so we love to get back to Texas for great Tex-Mex.

We saw the World's Largest Pot Man on the outskirts of Marshall, and we saw a fireworks store that had tree-like looking structures with exploding firework lighted tops.  We'd never seen anything quite like that before.  Hey, when you are trying to keep your wife happy on the way to Great Grandma's House, you've got to be happy with the little things you might happen to see....
