G'day All,
Well another early morning not that they worry me as u all know to me anything later than 1am is a sleep in so it is good to get to sleep in to 5am, no breakfast as we have to be on the road early as we have a long drive ahead of us from Alice Springs to Uluru (Ayers Rock) and this morning it was suggested we either get food from the supermarket or a breakfast box from the hotel we opted for the nothing box and get something at the first cafe we came too. the trip out of Alice was quite pleasant as we watched the scenery change from the town to the arid zone as its called as it gets some rain the area including alice is not a true desert.
The first port of call was the camel farm for breakfast here we had a 20minute stop to grab a cuppa and a quick bite we ended up getting a couple of small biscuts mine was an anzac biscuit and nancy had the choc chip one which she demolished in two seconsds due to the fact she was hungry, some of the people mamanged to get in a camel ride and soon we were off again th driver then offered to shout the person who spotted uluru first a beer if they were wrong the person had to shout the driver a beer of his choice, well it was soon spotted and ppl called it in and he said sorry u lose and my choice is a darwin stubbie it holds 2.5lts of beer hmmmm now thats a small stubbie of beer
The scene we saw was in fact mount connor the second largest Monolith it looks like a smaller version of uluru, we stopped at a salt pan to take pics of it and the mount, soon we were on our way again and lunch was at the resort and we had time to relax before heading back out for an afternoon tour and evening sunset shot of the rock
After settling into our rooms we were picked back up for an afternoon walk around the rock and a history lession on what was the Aboriginal beliefs of the rock and the initiation sites for both males and females, we then all headed to the viewing platform to watch the sun set on the rock with a lot of ohhhh ahh's the sun went down and we were back at the resort for dinner and bed as an early rise again for the sunrise shots of the rock.
Ok all time for bed so will see you all bright and early tomorrow morning hooo roo
cheers Stewart and nancy.
Hello All,
this is Cedric your international reporter reporting from Alice springs and let me tell you Iam mad cranky angray at the idiot did u notice his flagrant non report from me on the train trip from darwin how rude is he hey sheesh talk about deserveing a good slap around the ears
well i will be breif with the darwin alice trip it was AWESOME i got to fly the helicopter man that big idiot was shaking in his boots when the pilot offered me the controls and i flew up and down Kathrine gorge.
we arrived in Alice and that was Ok then i was shoved in the back pack and off we went for a walk around the base of the rock as its called the we went and took our place in the sunset viewing platform and wow now thats a sight to be seen the colours are remarkable the transformation is unreal but then so is this rock close up it looks like the rusting hulk of a ship hence the rust colour is caused by the iron ore that has been blown onto it over the millieum chucks have fallen off and look like rust scale on the side of the cherry venture ( a famous ship wreck on the worlds largest sand island Frasier island).
We then went back to the resort for dinner and bed as we had another early morning to view the sunrise,ok all bed time i will see you all in the morning cheers for now Cedric

Re: Cedric and his nuts ...
G;day my Maltese mates, yes am having a ball and I am using a canon s5 powershot with polarized filter on the lens and Nancy is using the old 2gig Nikon we bought as our first camera and i still reckon it takes a lot cleaner and sharper pic than this one
