G,day All,
We are finally getting to the end of our Highlands tour we landed in a beautiful little village called Aberlour and it was a beautiful B&B that bill had found for us the place was spot on mind you in some places the roof was close to the floor even nancy who is 5ft nothing hit her head i kept calling out duck as she banged her way around the room, this B&B was beside a lovely little village where the main source of attraction again is a distillery and wow what a sight it was, the tour Guide young Daniel was great he was just 18 but did he know his malt from his Grist, he was very entertaining and kept us informed with his knowledge and humor one of the best tour i had in a distillery at the end of the tour he shouted us a dram or 7 and was explaing the water of life and asked us to pick up the first glass of water and sample it well nancy took one sniff and a quick taste turned her nose up and said "yuk" quick as a flash young Daniel picked on her and said "och did ye n'ar take notice when i said it was 70% proof madam, we all had a giggle at that He then explaind the strengths and tastes in the next 6 drams and each was very perculiar to its own vintage from 10yrs to 18yrs.

The next visit was to an old bridge where there were several clans that decided to merge and form one huge clan so formed the mighty clan of the scots, we then headed onto a cooperage where all the whiskey Casks are repaired or made depending on the distillery's requirements this is still done 90% by hand an each cooper takes an average of 35 casks a day to repair.

We then headed to the coast wow what a day the day started out overcast but by the end of it it was hot an sunny the coastal area was great we visited Baxters the famous game food canning people and then onto some old fishing villages the north sea was beautiful and blue cold as tho and the rocky beaches were great, all in all a fantastic vist to the highlands and tomorrow we head back to Dundee. hugs all
Stewart and Nancy.

Hello all this is your wet soggy cold roving reporter Trevor hm does that make me a wet squirrel you bet it does "rain rain go away and rain on the plains of spain".

Well did i have fun I can tell you we went to a fantastic little distillery called Aberlour and the guide was a boy after my own heart when he found out I was on a world tour he offered me my own tasting table and wow was it needed as my toes and nose were cold as, the first one he said was the water of life so i scoffed the whole lot down as i was thirsty after all that walking in the distillery, welllll did that put the hairs on the back of my tail on end whew it whas 70% pwoof a twad pwotent but i pwersisted and ventuered onto the next wee dram and scoff it down only to find that my throat constricted and my toe nails curled thats whas 50% pwoof, i whas ahsking dweniel why the room was spinning and he said its ok Pal it only gets faster from here so the next one was only 43% pwoof whew man i tell you my eyes were watering my toes were dancing and people were swaying back and forth and i thought hm they are drunk look at that hey, then i had another wee dram and this one was better more to my taste only 40% proof and the world was spinning as i looked around the lights got brighter and the room swam with a sea of faces, then he introduced me to a 16yr old one and i thought how silly to have a youngster drinking when it registered he was refering to the age of the whisky so another wee dram was scoffed straight down this time stewart shouted at me to stop drinking so much and i glared at him and said "you should talk look who is shouting" he then yelled in my ear he was whispering hm well i had to get up and use the little squirrels room and they had put every damn obsticle you could find in my way Casks chair legs and peoples legs one lady shouted down at me to stop climbing her leg and i realise it was her fishnet stockings she had on not a climbing rope so finally i found my way to the loo and lo and behold it looked very much like one of those tasting glasses tyhey gave us but hey you know when you have to go you have to go. I was then presented with a nice 18yr old drop and wow was it nice a bit too much but thats when disaster nearly struck as i was enjoying the last well i thought the last one i saw this glass lying on its side with a little whisky left in it, i thought wow some one has left a glasss near my loo so i will go and investigate well you know me and whisky now so i swayed, stumbled over to it an tried to tip it up and drink it when it was snatched away by stewart and with a look of disgust on his face he said enough is enough thats when i looked at the bright lights and the world swam and i can't remember much that day i do know i had a good headache when i woke up.

the next day we went on a drive to the Baxter soup factory and i saw my rellies all yelling at me not to go in or i would be a stew in the soup so i hid in stewarts bag all day i even was allowed out on the sea side to get a tan. I have bent your ears enough so back in the bag i go hoo roo for now
cheers Trevor
