Well we finally made it to Cairo and what a turn up it was the flight was sleep sleep even I missed breakfast hm must be sick or very tired. we left Dubai an hour late and was a fun time. Well to fill you in on Dubai wow what an experience was worth it not only did we get a free tour but we also had a gudie who loved Aussies. On the first day we decided to go to a mall and was told one was around the corner or one in town decided the one around the corner was worth it but once out in the heat and humidity decided that the best part was the airconditioning, and asked if there was a taxi to the city mall we were charged 20 Dhm for that ride but was easiest to do the mall was great but like all malls shops shops shops and no shops for me (how sad). We decided to head back to the hotel and got a cab, he looked just like the cabbies back home when told where to go they give u a blank look, we had a card wtih the hotel address and he looked at it upside down side ways and even turned it over to the Arabic side and still did a 360 with it handed it back to me and then proceeded to get verbal instructions via his mobile while driving one handed and the other holding the phon, the traffic was mad house cars busses trucks all fighting for that one bit of bitumen we were occupying have never had a ride like this before wa sfantastic to see the way they all gave way and missed each other by cm's. we arrived safely back at the hotel anfd this time the charge was 12.50Dhms but due to his herioic efforts not to get us both killed i gave him a tip of 2.50 haha thats about 50cents our money. that night was another experience we had been on a dinner in the desertt tour wow we were paked in like sardines in a 4 wheel drive 6 of us plus the driver who told us we would rotate around the seats so we could see every thing and also experince how a sardine feelds in the back back seat of this 4 wheel drive.

First stop was to let down the tyres and we changed seats and had a drink of water while sitting waiting for the other 41 cars to join us we took some pic s and poor Trevor was feeling the heat he asked that i refrain from taking him out of the airconditioning again but tough he was shoved in my pocket and was comfy for the trip. The car had a directional and temperatrue display on the rear vision mirror while waiting it climbed to a balmy 51C out side we were in 30 in the aircon I took a pick at 48/49 but one of the ladies said no will wait till hit hit the 50 which it did 5 minutes later. we were then off and wow what a ride up and over round and down sand dunes following each other like a huge centipede. we were doing fine till the driver decided to over compensate and got us bogged on a 42 degree incline was not ahppy Jan can tell u as he was rocking the car back and forwards to get us out of this precarious situation but with the expertise of an professional and sheer good luck we got out and away we went. we called in to a camel camp and had a short break to look at them and then off again for sunset shots of a sand covered sun sinking below the horizon. It wa great as my picwill show :) the dinner was next and no no sheep eyes or goats testicles but beef chicken or lamb was a good feed mind u the body is not designed to sit on a pillow and eat off a bench but we managed with the help of me getting another pillow so u were slightly higher and comfy.

The belly dance was greart and she invited some of the people to get up and dance with her in the end there was a couple who were great and actually stole the show (we are not sure if it was part of the act as they seemed to move to closely to the music considering never had heard it before). so to bed at last rest sleep yeah right much to our dismasy we had a night off boom booms etc from the night club on the ground floor and finally at 2am we slept. the next day dawned fantasticly another day in Sand city, after breakfast we decided to go to the biggestMall the Mall of the Emerates, we walked out and a bloke asked if we wanted a cab and when he found out where we wnated to go he said no he is not going tp take us but rang a friend who turned up in a unmarked car and said 50dhms to the mall which was cheaper than the hotel price once under way Ali (yes of the forty theives variety ) was weaving in and out of tyhe traffic with the thoughts of us being held to ransom well maybe Nancy, me i would be left stranded on the side of the road. (sheesh this is long). He asked where we were from and when we said Australia well his eyes lit up the dollars signs went beserk and he took both hands off the wheel doing about 900kilometres an hr and said ohhhhhh i love Ostralians u are in the hands of me now and i will give u a free tour no extra charge, nancy and i mentally looked at each other and thought what the heck have we got our selves into here but hey go with the flow. Ali proved to be a man of his word we actually got photos of the Bur El Arab and with us in front of it he took the photos and did not take off with the cameras as we thought. He then took us to the Mall and asked if we wanted to come back and he would charge same money so what the heck in for a shilling in for a pound. so we arranged to meet him bavck outside at 1pm and sure enough he was there on the dot well 2minutes early but hey he WAS THERE. The afternoon was a city of merchants tour which we ended up back near the mall but were not shown the BurEl Arab like this morning so wow a bonus pic
