So I was up today at 6am - I'm getting used to this early morning lark. It ain't so bad when you know it's gonna be 30 degrees out side it actually makes you wanna get up and go for a wonder! Anyway it's just bloody typical that the free wireless internet I am picking up from god knows where isn't connecting. Well it is kinda for all of 2 minutes then switches off again! "Ha ha serves you right for using someone else's connection" I here a few of you saying!!!!!!!!!!
So I will endeavor to be on again 8pm English time (6am for me) for the next 2 days.
Our Brian has landed in Melbourne and will be with us on Saturday (not Sunday as I first thought) so we are just trying to sort things out and decide what the best option is to work our way down the coast in what little time we have.
Another turkey has been spotted running round the garden. It can't be the same one we ate that for Sunday lunch! Just kidding as if we would? This one was a bit brave and actually came in the house looking for food.
Yesterday I had a brilliant brain wave about making Christmas cards for some of you rabble back home so I had to go and buy paint from Crazy Clarkes - the names bizarre the TV advertisement is even more bizarre. It makes me wonder if they have any regulations at all when it comes to advertising on TV over here. The weirdest one is for penis enlargement with two guys playing the piano with there willies and this old guy pops up and says "will I be able to do that?" The first time I saw it me and Izzy were just chillin watching a film, we looked at each other, looked back at the TV, then back at each other and burst out laughing. If you're in Oz it's normally aired on a Saturday night about 8pm.
See I'm ranting again. Where was I?
Oh yes so after buying paints, brushes and a Santa stamper I walk out side just as the huge ball of fire is setting behind the mountains, that being the sun. It was beautiful. However Cairns being Cairns has no where decent to take sunset pics, or should that be no where that I have found yet - I am still hopeful!
So me being crazy little me jumps on my bike (have too much confidence on this thing now) shoots out the car park, down the path, across the crossroads and train track searching for somewhere to stop and take pics before it completely disappears. The best I could come up with was a main road complete with lamp posts, telegraph lines and of course cars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know the pictures do no justice at all to how beautiful the sky looked across the mountains; they looked like they were on fire, but with car horns beeping and everyone staring to see what this crazy little mad person is doing standing in the middle of the road with crash helmet still on I managed to take a few before realizing that maybe someone will nick my bike so I better get back. So then I dashed back along the main roads stopping at the train crossing just at the back of our house to take a few more and continued up the road a bit. The things I have to do!
Everyone is gearing up for the start of the Ashes here in Oz and we are going out tonight for a few beers to help Leigh celebrate his Birthday which was actually on Monday but we've all been working so hard and in this heat too! It might please a few of you to know that we've had a couple of days of rain and they have had SNOW in Victoria down south. The first thing Brian said when he phoned was "its bloody freezing down here it's like being at home!" And he's only brought shorts and t-shirts. Not to worry Bri it's gonna be about 35 degrees up here next week ;-)
Was gonna write a piece about Ozzy slag but what I've come up with so far is shit so i wont bother!!!!
Ok off to tidy our room and do some washing.
To be continued. . . . .
