Today Kim told us about a full moon party at Manchans Beach which is not far away from where we live. Ben and I had been on a bike ride there last week and all though it seemed like we rode for miles it is probably only a coule of K away. There's not really a beach as such well not one you can sunbathe on because of the salt water crocks so the party was actually held on the park area and it was not what we were expecting at all!!!

Full moon parties normally consist of loads of people (mostly young ones) getting shit faced on drugs & alcohol but this was a real local's party and I reckon we were the only travelers that were there. We were late arriving and it was in full swing by the time we finally arrived. Obviously we stopped off for a few beers from the local bottle shop!

The stage was the back of a truck with lanterns hanging from a tree and even though there were a few technical problems the bands played on regardless. Local children ran around with glow sticks while parents sat in the make shift bar enjoying a few beers while we danced and laughed and had a good ole time. Between bands we sat under the glow of the full moon on the waters edge and at one point we played on the swings like the big kids we are for what seemed like hours!

Not sure how often it happens but if your in the area check it out we had a great night.

We didn't stay too late as people had to get up for work in the morning.

To be continued. . . . .
