So this morning we are once again up at 6.30am (yes Leanne another day with 2 x 6.30's) as we have to catch the train to Singapore at 8.30am. I didn't sleep much last night there was lots of noise and it felt like I had just closed my eyes, got comfortable and then the alarm went off for us to get up.

I dragged my self out of bed and into a cold shower that woke me up in nano seconds and getting out felt like a cold December morning back in our home town sunny Huddersfield because the aircon was still on (we couldn't wait to get outside just to warm up). We walked up a steepish hill to the Metro line station (monorail) which takes us to KL Sentral allowing ourselves plenty of time so we don't have to rush. The bag we bought in BK with wheels decided to break just before we got to the train station and it was my fault so Ben was a little pissed off. Anyway Breakfast was a McDonalds because that is all that was open, so god knows when we will get a decent cup of coffee!

Time for one last cigi before we get on the train.

We treated ourselves to first class tickets; you get a bit more room and it takes about 7 hours so it was 12 quidish (not sure it's a word but it fits) well spent. Anyway the train arrived and we settled in our seats and off we went. About an hour later it stopped at a train station so we jumped onto the platform (staying by the door cause we knew we only had about 2 mins) for a few drags of nicotine, the whistle went and we jumped back on putting our cigs out. Back in our seats (the carriage is half empty) the conductor man comes down and says "its ok you can smoke here (pointing to the little lobby type bit by the exit doors/toilets). I saw you putting fire out (cigi he means while laughing at us) but no need you smoke here." So at least we don't have to go for hours without a cig; that should keep the stress levels down a bit!!!!

The train ride actually went really quick (is this still something to do with all our time flying by now I wonder; even boring simple journeys like this?) and before we know it we've stopped at Woodlands Train Checkpoint. It looks and feels like we've pulled into a prison camp. We exit the train with all our luggage, pass through immigration then back on the train to the stop where we will get off.

At the train station a man approaches us saying he will take us to our hotel for S$15 (Singapore dollars) we say no thanks and jump in a meter taxi; it costs S$3.80! We check into our hotel and are not impressed with our room (for what we have paid) and the wireless internet don't work either so doubt we will get the chance to upload any pics here.

We desperately need coffee and food (in that order) so head off down town on the tube which is quite confusing at first. We stop at Orchard which is the big shopping district, spend 30 minutes searching for Coffee Bean and would you believe it two turn up at once. After enjoying a proper cup of coffee we find food (don't remember the place it wasn't that good) then decide we will take the tube down to the Harbor (it's the stop after where we are staying)which is where you catch the cable cars over to Sentosa Island (this is where we plan to spend tomorrow). The cable cars are still running and some are all lit up so we decide to just ride round on one getting off at the mountain stop to take some pics of the city by night. We did manage to get a couple really good ones which we will put on the website soon (that is if the wireless internet gets sorted). On first impressions Singapore is not as nice as KL, maybe I'm all citied out and probably a bit tired too.

It's almost 11pm when we get back to our room and its time for bed, nite, nite x

To be continued. . . . .
