I have become a little home sick. It's true that I miss my friends and family, the girl's nights out on the town, the family parties, but more than anything now I am missing my football. The new season kicked off last Saturday and while everyone here was out getting pissed (we are 6 hours ahead of you) I was sat in a café with a coffee and my laptop listening to BBC 5 live over the internet for the football scores. My home team Huddersfield was actually aired on BBC Radio Leeds but I couldn't pick it up here so I had to listen to the Yids (can't remember who they played its not important) hoping for a few words about the Huddersfield game along with the live scores on the internet
Other news here on tiny Koh Tao - we've had some really bad thunder storms of late. Ben was diving last week, the boat almost sank and couldn't get back into the harbor because the sea was so ruff so they had to moore the boat around the side of the island and hop in a dingy back to shore; see it doesn't just rain when I'm on the boat? Most of the DMT's (Dive Master Trainees) have finished and a few have left this little paradise to head of back home or on to pastures new and a few new DMT's have enrolled. When they complete the course they have to do a snorkel test which involves sitting in a pub with mask and a snorkel attached to a long pipe which is filled with a jug of mixed alcohol from above and they drink
We've lost a lot of photos from Thailand and here inparticular so we are going to hire a buggy thing with 4 wheels so we can get up and down some of the bad roads on the island and hopefully update you with some photos. There are some stunning beaches when you can get to them.
The best pub/club on the island was PURE Bar and if you have been here you will remember it well. It's situated on Sariee Beach and the parties were legendary. Pure was due to hold its 1 year anniversary party last Sunday but was mysteriously burnt to the ground two days before!!! How bizarre.
There is a big Thai boxing match on Monday featuring Andrea my open water instructor so we will all be at the ring side cheering her on.
There's a bug (not one with legs) doing the rounds on the island and a few (including me) have been a bit ill, but I seem to be over the worst now and getting back to my old self.
Well that's it for now folks. Someone please, please please keep me updated with the football. I am reading the examiner reports on line but there is nothing better than a die hard fans point of view on the game. You can add comments on here or email me direct it would really keep me sain - honest.
Love to everyone
