Laos is SO laid back! No screams of 'Lady! You want moto? Tuk tuk?'. In fact, you just get ignored most of the time which is quite nice, unless you want something in which case it gets a BIT annoying! We got to Pakse about lunchtime and were going to go to Wat Phu Champasak but were too late in the day so had a wander around town instead and got distracted by this cute little spa place which ended up in the most amazing foot/shoulder massage ever! To be somewhere which smells so amazing and which is so relaxing was just heavenly! Treated ourselves to pizza after as well which was possibly the best pizza Ive had in 6 months! Truly delicious!
Next day we went on a day trip to the Bolaven Plateau which is famous for its waterfalls and coffee plantations. It was so pretty! Saw 3 different waterfalls - the most amazing was 120m tall and comes crashing out the side of this enormous hill. Went to a tea and coffee plantation and saw how they are both made - and of course stocked up on some of the amazing Laos coffee! In the afternoon we went for a drive around the local villages and saw some of the tribes - not sure how I feel about making your own coffins before you die and storing them under your house but hey, each to their own I guess!
