Unlimited mimosas. Those are the two words that got us to Braai for brunch. Braai is located in Hell's Kitchen and serves South African cuisine. I indulged in hugenot toast, bush scones, ostrich egg and passion-fruit mimosas. One ostrich egg was $7, but the amount of that one egg equaled about four chicken eggs. Although I don't usually like to eat eggs, I had to try it, since I didn't know when I was ever going to be able to enjoy South African cuisine. Celso was the bravest, ordering the Safrikkan Brekkie, which included boerewors. We never did find out what animal(s) made up this sausage. The staff was very generous with the mimosas, which were delicious, and didn't rush us out the door, which means that by the time we headed toward the New World Stages to see Avenue Q, we were sufficiently drunk for a Sunday afternoon. Fortunately the stage was just around the corner from Braai.

Avenue Q was my kind of show. For some reason, the first line of the musical reeled me in: "What do you do with a B.A. in English?" That's a question I've been asking myself for a long time. While no real answer is given, it was a lot of fun and had a great cast. Edwin tells us that some of the cast members we saw were the same from the Broadway show he saw.
