We packed up today and headed north to Canada. We travelled through the foothills and passes to Great Falls Montana and then headed into more prairie land with wheat fields and pasture land. In one section we saw oil grasshoppers. When we got to the border it was not busy at all, only 3 vehicles ahead of us and so they decided they would go through the motorhome and check out our story of why we were going into Alberta. The motorhome was taken into a large garage and the doors closed. Our passports and keys were taken. We sat in a closed area with glass windows while three officers went through the motorhome for about 20 minutes. Passports and keys were returned and we were on our way. We drove on to Welling AB where we met Don and Diane Duncan, friends from Almonte who are RVing full time and are spending the summer working on a harvest excursion. We spent a lovely evening with them sharing our travel adventures. They have been as far south as Colorado this summer and worked their way back up with the harvesting crew. Don is driving a combine and Diane is visiting all the towns around where they have been. You can read all their adventures on The farmer where they are working gave them permission to have us camp overnight. We had an interesting drive around the area in the evening looking for the combines and viewing the beautiful prairie sunset and the windmills in the area.
