Boquete, ***, Wed 21st-23rd January, 2007. No globalization
A mountain valley town located in the North centre of Panama at an altitude of 1060m with a cool, fresh climate. There was plenty to do here in Boquete...and as well as its postcard like views, Boquete stuck out for me for two other reasons: 1) it had Cadbury's chocolate (usually we see Mr Big and the occasional nutty bar but Crunchies here!..WAHOO!) and 2) it's the first place since leaving Reynosa that we could flush the loo paper down the loo. Oh and it was so great not having to worry bout (many) mosquitoes.
But to just mention these factors would sell Boquete short. It is also famous for its coffee (just I don't drink the stuff) and the hikes in the surrounding area are top notch. Beautiful, scenic views.
We headed for El Valle at the weekend, realising that we had just landed in Cahuita the Saturday before. Seemed like a few months before.
