Chaz hatte uns und Olaf's Blender zu einer Party eingeladen. Es sollte eine Strandparty sein. Erst hatte es eine rockstar party sein sollen. Also habe ich etwas strandiges angezogen und Olaf etwas rockstariges. Weil er ja ein eigentlich ein rockstar von der Seele aus ist.
The party was the usual craziness. Chaz had actually bought a blender and after some discussion about what we could mix, I cut up a pinnapple and the coconut-rum and other spirits were added. The result was mildly drinkable. Somebody eventually poured into the punch. Made both better.
Die Party war der ganz normale Wahnsinn. Chaz hatte einen Standmixer
gekauft und nach ein paar Beratungen und Überlegungen was wir mixen
könnten habe ich mal die Ananas klein geschnitten und der Kokosnußrum
flog, sowie andere Geister. Was wir da geschaffen hatten war
grenzwertig trinkbar. Ihrgendjemand hat es dann in die Bowle geschüttet. Dann waren beide besser.
Then I got to meet Gary. I saw him and said "Is that the guy who looks like George Clooney?" He does. And that's what he's generally refered to. I guess, it's better than being referred to as "The guy who looks like Michael Moore" or "The girl who looks like Dame Edna."
Dann habe ich Gary getroffen. Ich habe ihn gesehen und sofort gesagt: "Ist das der Typ, der wie George Clooney aussieht?" Tut er. Und so beschreiben Leute ihn. Ich denke ist schon besser, als wenn Leute über einen sagen würden, "der Typ, der wie Michael Moore aussieht" oder "Die Frau, die aussieht wie Helga Feddersen."
Drunken Brad, Olaf's housemate, mixed this horrid paint-stripper with cream and tequila and V8 and...I don't even know. By the time I suggested to add some tuna, Brad had convinced himself that it was drinkable and was tasting it. Some followed his example. "Godawful" was the general attribute everyone agree upon, except for one bright soul who stated "Needs Tabasco."
Der betrunkene Brad, Olaf's Mitbewohner, hat diese ekeligen Beize gemix mit Sahne und Tequila und Tomaten-gemüsesaft und was weiß ich noch. Als ich noch gerade vorschlug, daß ein bißchen Thunfisch nett dabei wäre hatte es sich davon überzeugt, daß man es trinken könne und war schon beim probieren. Einige folgtem seinem Beispiel. "Ganz schlecht" war die generelle Meinung, bis auf eine positive Seele, welche nur sagte "Braucht Tabasco."
Olaf and I also talked to a short guy, whose Dad lives in Göttingen. He thinks that Göttingen is the most beautiful city. I mention his height, because as he was talking to us, he kept getting up on his tippy-toes. It was really funny. I saw him later talking to Brad, I think, who is also pretty tall, and he actually climbed onto the sofa backing to be eye-level.
Olaf und ich haben auch mit einem kleinen Typen gesprochen, dessen Vater in Göttingen wohnt. Er meinte das Göttingen wohl die schönste Stadt sein. Ich habe seine Größe erwähnt, weil er sich, während er mit uns sprach immer auf die Zehenspitzen stellte. War echt lustig. Später sah ich noch, wie er sich mit Brad glaub ich unterhielt, welcher auch relativ groß ist. Da war er auf die Sofalehnen geklettert um auf Augenhöhe zu sein.
I did not take any pictures. Chaz took loads and I think I managed to close my eyes on all of them. I'm so good at that. Aeon Flux like, snap a flash-photograph and I could catch a fly with my lashes, too. I'm sure.
Ich habe leider keine Bilder gemacht. Chaz hat viele gemacht und ich glaube ich habe auf allen die Augen zu. Wie Aeon Flux. Ich könnte bestimmt auch eine Fliege mit meinen Wimpern fangen, wenn mich einer mit 'nem Blitz fotografiert.
