Buen Camino.

Today we walked 23km from Roncesvalles to Zubiri. We started the walk about 9.30am. Ron needed his beauty sleep. We arrived in Zubiri about 2.30pm.

It was raining today, about 7 degrees but a much easier walk than yesterday. Stopped half way and had lunch of baguette and pâté and cheese sitting on a wooden seat with a couple of French ladies in their 60s. The procession of people passing by was constant with some drudging and others full of life and greeting everyone with 'Buen Camino'.

The walk ended with a magnificent old bridge into the town of Zubiri. We went into an alberge and were told they were all full up, which was ok for us because all we wanted was a stamp on our pilgrim passports and he was happy to oblige. There are more pilgrims on the path than usual so many had to go to Pamplona for the night and returned the next day in taxis.

We finished our walk, took a taxi to Roncesvalles to pick up our car and drove to our apartment in Pamplona. In our section we had a share kitchen with washing machine and clothes airer so we did a load of washing before going to dinner at a local restaurant. The hotel was at #32 not #34.We couldn't find it and almost gave up. A friendly bar keep found it for us.

The young man on Reception could not find the key for our car park so we parked on the street. Fortunately we were able to leave the car there over night. Proved to be a good move.
