Welcome aboard. We're about to depart on our big retirement trip and are glad you can join us. Judging from the size of our luggage, one could deduce all the stores in France are closed. But one must be prudent. The U.S. Dollar is recovering but not yet strong. Please don’t expect anything too extravagant, although we will be spending the first six days in Paris and may get a little gastronomically aggressive. We will for sure while in Paris, visit Le Cordon Bleu for a wine and food pairing class and join our young friends, Camille and Emily, for a night on the town. Our hotel is near Le Musee du Louvre and Les Jardins des Tuileries, so we’ll be sharing that experience with you as well as some "in Seine" photos. The City of Lights keeps her secrets, but we intend to conduct our own Left Bank celebrity search. We’ll certainly investigate Café les Deux Magots and other early Twentieth Century artists’ hangouts. Maybe we can send you a shot of Papa Hemingway, James Joyce, Pablo Picasso, Gertrude Stein, or Alice B. Toklas. We’ll try. You can look forward to joining us as we window shop along Les Champs-Elysees and take a Seine cruise to visit some of the famous ginguettes, outside of Paris. At the end of our first week, we’ll pick up our rental car and take a leisurely two or three day trip to our petite maison,  located in the village Saint Roman de Malegarde, near Orange and Avignon, in Provence. We’ll be staying in Saint Roman until October 22, with the exception of a one-week trip to Egypt  in September and a short visit to meet our Bavarian friends, the Banse’s, in Antibes, France  . We’ll spend a week in Ireland  on the way home, landing in San Diego on October 29. Au revoir et bon voyage!
