In Lipice we go to see very famous Lipican horses. Ok, here is what we remember from the guided tour: the stables were founded in 1850 by the local archbishop, at the moment they have 400 horses which got their for from having crossed small cart horses and other kinds from Czech Republic, Austria, etc.; the majority of horses is white (all are born dark - black, brown, grey - but after 2-3 years they all become white), they have just one horse which stayed really dark even after. The stallions are for the first 3 years kept in the stables near Postojna, after the selection is done, just the best ones are not castrated, poor horses... the mares are used just for cart pulling, approx. untill 25 years old, after they retire ad they live happily in the stables till they are 32-35 years old. All breeding is done by insemination, no natural sexual pleasures, again poor horses... there is also a beautiful little church devoted to the archbishop who founded the stables and also was a big protector of animals.

Afetr the tour we see a great horse show - women, men, carts, dressage (see the videos). Then we send some postcards (Romain's brother Baptiste has his birthday on the 11th August so HAPPY BIRTHDAY little big brother!).

After we drive to Koper still in Slovenia, on the coast (btw Slovenia has just 44km of coast, all the rest is taken by Italy and Croatia) - not great, very industrial, but we have very yummy kebab from very nice kebab man who understands czech as those two languages are very similar! Finally we move to Izola not far from Koper. It is a nice place on the Slovenian coast but there is a horrible Slovenian singer in the local bar whose voice spreads as far as 4km around. We take some crazy pictures of us two, have some drink at the local bar but... as the singer is really unbearable we decide for early night.
