The rice harvest has started and the farmers are busy processing the rice and drying their rice in every possible space avaliable whether it be public space such as the road or in little alleyways that face east-west due to the sun. We had to weave our way around the rice drying mats and made our way through this cool little town. The dinner menu had on offer "chefs treasures of morning glory" which we had to give a miss and opted for more conventional dishes.

Just wanted to point out the the range of shitty toys that the poor kids are playing with in china to remind everyone of how lucky we were:

*Beijing had those annoying magnet cricket things mentioned earlier which are also avaliable in other provinces
*In Xian they had this wooden spinning toy which had a light and the way to keep it spinning is whip it with piece of leather 01 Way to pack them geese!

 . Now the young kids love it but they don't know how to whip it. Also we were witness to several kids injuring themselves in the learning process.
*Xia-he we were witness to a kid spinning a tyre tube down the street with a stick.
*Jinhong we saw a baby play with a bottle filled with rocks
*Xiding had kids throw plastic bags that have been tied up. I felt so sorry for them I had to give them some real balloons.
*Xijiang had kids making mud blocks from a puddle off the side of the dusty road
*Xijiang also had a kid pull a piece of metal on the end of a string
*Xijiang had a 10 year old girl who would not give up riding her bike that she got for her 4th birthday.

Speaking of shit I had seen the worst crack pants vandal when the young mother sitting on her short stool was holding the baby between her legs and allowing the baby to pee and shit; at the same time! With not a care in the world about pee splash or poo at her feet she stared up into the mountains. The scene was to disturbing for me to take a photo of....but just imagine.
