Arrived in the afternoon to a small town called Gracias which seems like it has been stuck in a time warp with cobbled streets, horses and cowboys hanging on street corners and and I was determined to jam pack the day or two I was spending here. But having had local help I was told that I was not possible to hike to the summit in Parque National La Cerraque and instead it would be a 2-3 day hike. Yeah right! So instead I opted for an 8hr hike which in itself is a big task. Got some help from the local tour guide for the park and went for a beer with him. Around 7-8 beers later it was obvious that the hike was not going to happen so that idea was canned.
Stumbled home at 6am the next morning and was about to get to bed when clans of roosters started cockle-doodling! Afterwards it was the staff in the hotel yapping away right outside my window and I realised that sleep wasn´t going to happen so I went to take a shower
With the thought of being dirty and sweaty for the whole day with a hangover I started walking out of town to a place called Agua Temale which is around an 1hr walk out of town into lush green suroundings and natural hot springs which is pumped into various pools. Nice! The hike was strenuous, especially in thongs and thinking I was going to go and take the short cut, I found myself trudging through mud and myriads of insects and even a horse or two in my path. It was well worth it though the place is absolutely amazing, probably isn´t that great but with the last 24hours that I´ve had it was heaven!
Had a chat with one of the locals and bummed back a ride to town on the back of the ute. So mucho gracias Gracias but I do believe that its time to get back on track and head to Utila in the Bay Islands, where I should have been yesterday! If I´m lucky I will only have to catch 2 Buses and a Ferry......heres hoping

. Turn the tap....... no water! Asking the owner, she just simply replied ¨towns out of water, have to shower MUCH later in the afternoon¨. That was the last straw, so I packed my bags and went to the best place in town to stay at. Need to get some luxury before I drive myself insane!
