Hola,
After having decided to go to Shemuc Champey against the odds at 11pm the night before I figured that I would be able to catch the 9am shuttle if I can get to the shuttle early enough. Anyhow sitting around for an hour for the agency to open I had unfortunately missed the shuttle and had to go on a mission to find another agency. This however worked out for the best as I had managed to find an alternative which was 50usd cheaper, BONUS! The trip was conducted by Ricardo our trusty driver and Jose the know it all guide. Together they reminded me of Cheech and Chong, it was so funny. The shuttle bus ride was however not funny, what should've taken 5 hours was more like 9 hours including pitstops. By the end of it we were like caged animals jumping up and down on the seats waiting for someone to let us out. The other travelers who joined the trip were mainly from belgium (3) and a canadian. I thought I got lucky, boy did I get it wrong. It took us roughly 6 hours just to get to Coban and another 3 hours of really, really, really bad roads to Lanquin which we had to stay for the night.
