Ok so EJ, Michael and I went away for the weekend to visit Rahul who came across a place in Lago Atitlan called San Marcos which is lush with vegetation and dirt paths that lead to massage places, meditation schools and pyshcic readings. This place is where the bohemiam traveller or lost souls come to find themselves again. Everything is very spiritual with houses in the shape of pyramids and areas that demand "Silence".

We stayed in a beautiful place called Acculaxx which was completed in 2003 and took 3 1/2 years to complete. It was envisoned by an eccentric German who sold all his belongings and spent every last penny on the place. Itīs an eco friendly hotel with solar powered showers, rain water collection and almost everything was built with recyclable items such as bottles, cardboard, plastics etc. At the start he didnīt charge anyone to stay there aslong as they helped out on the place but, obviously he couldnīt continue the custom as prices rose alot in the last couple of years Cards by candlelight

There was a couple of things going on that night we had a few options :

1. A 40th birthday party in which all the locals were going to and the theme was time. EJ came up with the idea of drawing a clock on her face!!!

2. Go to Santa Cruz for their famous saturday night parties. I did however mention that it wouldnīt be a good idea as we have been before unknowingly and to go again would be very conspicuos!

3. Stay in the hotel and get really drunk and play cards.

So we started sipping our cuba libres (rum and cokes) at 3pm and needless to say we didnīt make it out of the hotel room. It was nice though, we hung around EJ and Michaels room in which the view was amazing. It was a two storey place on the side of the mountain with an outside bathroom which was decked with a bath, shower and the usual amenities and it had a 270 degree view of the lake, LUSH!

If I had more time and was abit more serious in getting more in touch with myself spiritually I would definitely stay for a month or so, but as it stands time is short and there are still so many places to see and so many things to do. VAMOS!
